October 17, 2007 PERA Meeting Minutes
We welcomed two new Board Members:
- Carol Fredrick from Tel-Power & Equipment – Altoona, Pa
- Andrew Budick from Action Rental – Allentown, Pa
- New PERA Officers were chosen for the year 2008:
President – Dan Vokorokos
Vice President – Andrew Budick
Treasurer – Hal Sprecher
Secretary – Bob Clager
- Treasurer’s Report
- Hal Kodikian will send a revised report to the board members
because the one at the meeting was incomplete.
- The independent audit of PERA’s books was completed September
2007.
- Hal Sprecher will be assuming the treasurer duties beginning in
2008.
- Executive Director’s Report
- Ray Robinson has officially resigned as PERA’s Executive
Director.
- We discussed having a temp agency to take meeting notes and do
the PERA newsletter. Dan will look into finding one in the local
area.
- Also we discussed conducting our meetings by tele conferencing –
Hal S. will look into it and has suggested global crossing.
- The PERA Secretary will maintain and update the PERA website.
- ARA Report
- Dan and Andrew will be delegates to the ARA’s National
Legislative Conference in Washington DC on April 28-30th 2008.
- We approved a $500.00 donation to underwrite the conference.
- Legislative Report
- We discussed the proposed changes to the Theft of Leased
Property Legislation. The changes will be favorable to the
rental industry and it will pass soon.
- Andrew will try to find a filter for the legislative report
because it is quite lengthy and tedious to discover legislation
that could effect the state rental industry.
- PERA Seminar Report
Confirmed Seminars:
- January 22nd 2008- Family business succession and estate
planning presented by Lee and Terry Resnick in Carlisle, Pa.
- February 28th 2008- Inflatable seminar at the
fairgrounds
- March 18th 2008- Telephone Techniques – Monroeville
- March 19th 2008- Telephone Techniques – Adamstown
- An Ebay seminar will be planned for December 2007. The
date and locations are to be determined but Bob and Bill
will be working on it.
- A trailer safety poster will be developed by Hal S. for distribution to
state rental stores.
- Our next meeting will be January 23rd 2008 either in Carlisle or by
telephone. We will keep you posted.
